CIS Expands Into Seven New Schools!

The 2014-2015 school year is going to be a very exciting year for Communities In Schools (CIS) of Federal Way!  At the request of the Federal Way School District, CIS is expanding into all the middle schools.  Last year CIS was in three schools and this year we will be in ten schools!

“I am so excited about this expansion and being able to provide extra support for students during the critical middle school years,” said Executive Director, Tracy Oster.  “We know that dropping out of school is a process, not an event.  CIS wants to support the district to help make sure students have what they need every step of the way to be successful and graduate.”

CIS now has School Outreach Coordinators in the following schools:  Mirror Lake Elementary School; Illahee, Kilo, Lakota, Sacajawea, Saghalie, Sequoyah and Totem Middle Schools; Federal Way and Thomas Jefferson High Schools.
