Amber joined the CIS team in 2017, and became a Lead School Outreach Coordinator in 2019. She is a member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Implementation Team selected by the Communities In Schools National Office in the fall of 2019, she was previously a member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Planning Team which began planning this important equity work for the national network beginning in early 2018. She is a social justice warrior who interacts with high school students through a diversity, equity, and inclusion lens and sets a priority of meeting kids where they are at to surround them with support. She is on her own personal journey of enlightenment and works daily to educate others and dismantle white privilege and white supremacy.  Prior to Communities In Schools, Amber was a professor, academic adviser and basketball coach at Highline College in Seattle.
